Berth Attendant
The Berthing Attendant is responsible for coordinating and overseeing vessel mooring and unmooring operations at the berth. This role ensures the safe and efficient handling of mooring lines and assists with other berth-related tasks to maintain smooth maritime operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Mooring & Unmooring Operations
- Coordinate mooring and unmooring activities to ensure safe vessel berthing and departure.
Assist in handling mooring lines and securing vessels to the berth.
Communicate with vessel crew, pilots, and operational teams to facilitate smooth operations.
Supervision of Connections & Disconnections
- Oversee the connection and disconnection of loading arms, gangways, and other berthing equipment.
Ensure proper procedures are followed for the safe handling of equipment.
Operational Readiness & Standby Duties
- Stand by during berthing operations to provide immediate assistance if required.
Monitor operations to detect any safety hazards or operational concerns.
Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols related to berth operations.
Report any incidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions promptly.
General Berth Maintenance & Support
- Assist with routine berth inspections and maintenance activities.
Perform other relevant duties within the berth as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:
• Minimum GCE ‘O’ Level qualification
• Prior experience in marine or port operations is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of mooring and berthing procedures.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Physically fit to handle mooring operations and work in outdoor environments.
• Willing to work in shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Willing to work in Jurong Island
